Telecommunications costs lowered by homeworking
A new study has suggested that energy levels and costs incurred by business telecommunications applications could be greatly reduced if companies moved towards homeworking.
Research by Sun Microsystems revealed that approximately 65 watts per hour were used by workers based at home, compared to 130 watts per hour by employees situated in a business office.
A spokesman for Sun Microsystems commended that the difference in power requirements by office workers and remote workers was "significant".
