Ofcom chairman to step down in 2009
The chairman of Oftem, David Currie, is to step down from his role as media regulator within the next year.
Currie, formerly an economist, had become the group's inaugural chairman when the Office of Communications first launched back in 2002.
The chairman of Ofcom position will be advertised later in the year and a replacement eventually appointed by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, and also by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform.
Along with Currie's forthcoming departure, Ofcom have also made several new appointments to its executive board.
